Olivia Haller is a DC-based actor, playwright, and dramaturg. She is currently the Literary Director of Convergence Theatre and a Producing Associate at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company.
After graduating in 2014 with a BFA in Theatre Arts from Boston University's School of Theatre, Olivia moved to Washington, DC to complete a literary fellowship at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company for their 14-15 season. Olivia returned to Woolly through a generous grant from the National New Play Network to serve as Woolly Mammoth's Producer in Residence for the 16-17 season.
Olivia's central passion is the development of new plays, especially those that engage with issues of social justice. She is a member of Convergence Theatre with whom she has dramaturged, devised, and performed in original work. As a playwright, Olivia completed a playwriting undergraduate thesis called PYGMALIA, which was developed for two years under the guidance of Professor Kirsten Greenidge before receiving a student production in the spring of 2014. Her play THIS IS ALL JUST TEMPORARY was created as a part of a writing class through the Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA) with Caridad Svich, and was workshopped while attending the Kenyon Playwrights Conference this summer. THIS IS ALL JUST TEMPORARY will be produced with Convergence as a part of the Women's Voices Theatre Festival in January 2018.
